Both drivers died at the scene. Three of Zahid's passengers also died, at the scene, including brothers Michael Ferrell (20) and James Ferrell (25), and Ryan Kiess (25). A woman traveling in the Uber survived the crash and is at Peconic Bay Hospital in critical condition. Excessive speed has been attributed to the crash. Responding officers found the head on crash with a Honda Civic with two occupants and a Honda CRV with one occupant. The two occupants of the 2004 Honda Civic Julio D. Zajap-Sinai, 24 and his passenger Juana Flores-Urbano, 37, both of Hampton Bays were transported by Suffolk County Aviation to Stony Brook Hospital. The driver of the 2006 Honda CRV, Leslie Carr, 45, of Southampton was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Zajap-Sinai is being charged with Driving While Intoxicated after it was determined that he crossed into the path of the Honda CRV causing the head on accident. After approximately 2 1/2 hours, searchers found a blue and white kayak near a slip at the Shinnecock Marina, roughly 200 feet South of the Peconic Bay inlet; the subject was found near the location of the kayak. The subject was declared deceased by the medical examiner. It is unknown if the kayaker was wearing a drysuit. Water temps are in the 40s. A good samaritan attempted to rescue the teen, but was unsuccessful. Suffolk County Fire and Rescue, Suffolk County PD, Cupsogue FD, Mastic PD responded to a 911 call of a man in the water at the Moriches Inlet. Mastic PD contacted the US Coast Guard (USCG) Long Island and Atlantic Area Station at New Haven, CT. Helicopters from USCG stations at Cape Cod (MA) and Atlantic City (NJ) responded to conduct aerial searches of an area of the Atlantic Ocean south of the inlet. A Suffolk County PD Aviation Unit was also dispatched to the area to assist in the search, which continued overnight into Saturday, November 7. Early Saturday morning, a dive team from the Suffolk County PD conducted a search of the inlet and surrounding waters. After nearly 24 hours of this multi-agency operation, the USCG called off the search at 2:30pm. Witnesses report this vehicle was driving upwards of 90 mph when it struck the second vehicle, a white Mercedes sedan operated by an 81 YO woman, spun off the road and into a ditch. The occupant of the car fire escaped, but suffered severe injuries. The driver of the white Mercedes was extricated by HBFD, and suffered significant bodily injuries. The perpetrator went first to the apartment of a 33 year-old male, banged and kicked the door until the victim opened it. Wiggins forced his way into the apartment, pushed pass the victim to the window, where he ripped open the blinds. The victim bit the finger of the perpetrator and forced him out of the apartment. Bleeding, the perpetrator then moved on to the apartment of a 26 year-old female, where he again banged and kicked the door. When the victim opened the door, the perpetrator rushed into the apartment, by which time NYPD had arrived on scene after receiving a 911 call from the first victim. Police officers rushed to the woman’s apartment. Upon entering, the perpetrator picked up a glass coffee table and hurled at police. Wiggins was wrestled to the ground, already wounded by the bite from his first victim. Police forcibly restrained Wiggins, who was arrested on multiple count of burglary, criminal mischief, and resisting arrest; he was transported to Harlem Hospital.
