Manhattan: NYPD Takes Barricaded Subject into Custody
01.12.23 | Chris | MANHATTAN, NY -- At approximately 12:30pm, NYPD patrol units and ESU, along with FDNY EMS, responded to the Chelsea YMCA ("The Christopher"), at 202 West 24 ST, to remove an emotionally disturbed person who had barricaded himself in his room. The male subject was taken into custody without incident and transported to an area hospital for a psych evaluation.
H'Bays: Violent Stabbing at New Year's Day Party
01.01.23 | by Chris | HAMPTON BAYS, NY - At approximately 5:32pm, Southampton Town Police and Hampton Bays EMS responded to a report of a stabbing at 141 Lynn Avenue. Upon arrival, police found a 32-YO male with a stab wound to the neck. The stabbing occurred during a New Year's Day celebration. The victim was transported in critical condition by ambulance to Peconic Bay Medical Center, in Riverhead. A call for a landing zone for victim transport by Suffolk County PD Aviation to Stony Brook Medical Center was cancelled because of a 15 minute ETA to the scene, and the severity of the victim's injuries. The name of the victim has not been released, and police sources couldn't confirm an arrest. The investigation is ongoing.
Manhattan: Two Fatally Struck by Subway at Same Station
12.20.22| by Chris | MANHATTAN - At approximately 10:49 AM, NYPD, FDNY, EMS responded to an initial report of a male in cardiac arrest on the platform of the L Train at 14th ST and 6TH AVE. Upon arrival, it was quickly discovered that a male and a female were struck by a train entering the station. EMS established that both victims were deceased. The connection between the two victims, if any, is unknown. Police sources on scene indicated this was an accident and not a criminal act. The identities of the victims have not been released, and the cause of the incident remains under investigation.

12.19.22 | Chris | HAMPTON BAYS, NY -- On Monday, December 19, 2022, at 12:12 A.M., the Southampton Town Police received a report of a motor vehicle accident on Newtown Road, in Hampton Bays. Patrol units responded and determined Seth Segura, age 28, of Hampton Bays, was operating his vehicle in an intoxicated condition when he drove off the roadway and struck a fence and trees Segura was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated, a misdemeanor and numerous traffic infractions.

12.17.22 | Chris | SOUTHAMPTON, NY -- At approximately 2:40am, Southampton Town Police and Southampton FD responded to a single vehicle into a tree, at 608 East Montauk H'Way. After taking our a row of smaller trees, the silver Toyota Highlander slammed into a large tree. The driver was the sole occupant of the Toyota.
22 Year-Old-Man Shot in Broad Daylight on Manhattan Street
12.06.22 | Chris | MANHATTAN, NY-- At approximately 3:30pm, NYPD responded to reports of a male shot on Adam Clayton Powell BLVD and West 114 ST. Upon arrival, police found a 22 year-old-male with a gunshot wound to the lower abdomen. The victim was transported by FDNY EMS to a local hospital in stable condition. A male and female wearing all black and ski masks fired at the victim at close range and fled the scene of foot.
SUV Strikes and Snaps Utility Pole on Flanders Road
11.23.20 | FLANDERS, LI -- At approximately 2:45am, Hampton Bays FD and Southampton Town Police responded to a 911 call of car into a utility pole on Flanders Road (NY Rt. 24) in the town of Flanders. A white Ford SUV traveling northbound on Flanders Road appears to have crossed into the southbound lane and struck a utility pole, which snapped in two. Flanders Fire and EMS also responded to the scene and, ultimately, took command. Ambulance and EMS units from Flanders and Hampton Bays responded, but it does not appear the occupant(s) of the Ford were transported to hospital. PSEG-LI responded to secure the power lines strung atop the damaged utility pole. It was raining heavily at the time of the accident. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
Westhampton Beach Two-Car MVA & Altercation
11.22.20 | WESTHAMPTON BEACH, LI -- Just after 2:00am, police from the Town of Southampton, Quogue, and Westhampton Beach, together with the Westhampton Beach FD, responded to a call of a motor vehicle accident on West Montauk Highway and Aspatuck Road. A grey Mazda coupe with a Virginia registration rear ended a silver Nisan Altima, causing considerable rear-end damage. A verbal altercation broke out between the occupants of the Nisan and a young male Hispanic who appeared to live in an apartment building across Montauk Highway from the accident scene. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. No injuries were reported and no arrests were made.
East Quogue 7-11 Robbery and Perp Search
At approximately 2:00am, November 11, 2020, Southampton Town Police responded to a 911 call of a robbery and property damage at a 7-11 store on East Montauk Highway, in the village of East Quogue. The suspect was described as a male black, wearing black pants, black sweatshirt and a red face mask. After breaking the glass on the store's front door, the suspect fled east on foot. A K-9 unit from the Village of Southampton PD and an aviation unit from Suffolk County PD participated in the search for the suspect. A suspicious vehicle parked on East Montauk Highway in the center of East Quogue, about one mile west of the 7-11, drew the attention of police. It is unknown if the vehicle was involved in the 7-11 incident. There were no weapons involved and no injuries reported. The suspect fled with goods of unknown value.

After police entered the establishment, patrons dressed in Halloween costumes began to stream out of the club. The officer reported there were no social distancing violations. This turned out not to be the story.
What became news was the verbal attack on me for recording, from a sidewalk across the street from the venue, the PD response to an alleged COVIC-19 violationBouncers and some patrons then proceeded to verbally attack this video journalist, who was standing across the street from the club. One bouncer attempted repeatedly to block the camera, while one particular patron attempted to lecture the journalist on the rules governing bars and restaurants. This same patron then proceeded to engage the SHPD officer in an argument over the legality of a journalist recording video while on public property.

Southampton Town Police responded just after 5:30 PM, Saturday, April 11, 2020, to a call of a white utility van into the front of a house at 83 Ponquogue Avenue, Hampton Bays, NY. A passing SHPD radio car noticed the late model Chevy utility van belonging to a painting company. The vehicle was impounded by police. The driver of the vehicle was taken into custody on unknown charges.

Heavily armed ESU officers, two K9 units, and an aviation unit searched a perimeter extending several blocks from the location of the bailout. Faculty and students from the Sorbonne took to the streets on Thursday, March 5, 2020, at 5 PM local time, up Rue des Ecoles, in central Paris, in protest against the French government's proposal to reduce the country's coveted pension program. Paris Metropolitan and the French National Police, clad in riot gear, watched over the peaceful march. The previous Saturday, protesters and police clashed violently, with numerous protestors arrested.

On December 10, 2019, a mass shooting occurred at a kosher grocery store located in the Greenville section of Jersey City, New Jersey. Five people were killed, including the two attackers and three civilians. A civilian and two police officers were wounded. A Jersey City Police Department detective was shot and killed at a nearby cemetery just before the grocery store attack.

Severe Weather in NYC and Suffolk County New York
Beginning around 10:00 PM, December 13, 2019, and into the following day, a warm front brought to the NYC metro area torrential rains and gail-force winds, which spread across all of Long Island. The weather caused numerous motor vehicle accidents in the city and across Long Island. On Eastern LI, a gale wind blowing out of the South caused for the fifth time in just over a month the Atlantic to breach the sand dunes along Dune Road, in the village of Hampton Bays. the breach in the dunes caused sea water to wash over the road into commercial properties on the North side of Dune Road. Conditions have been particularly bad during period of high tide.

Police arrived to find three persons shot--one victim in the back, one in the upper leg, and one in the abdomen . FDNY EMS transported all the three victims to St. Barnabas Hospital. The condition of the victims is unknown.

The driver of an out-of-control sedan speeding south on Saint Nicholas Blvd, violently struck the northwest corner of the NYPD 28 Precinct House on West 124 Street and Saint Nicholas Blvd. The car came to rest between the precinct and a parked NYPD van. The driver and passenger were extricated from the vehicle and taken to an area hospital.

SOUTHAMPTON VILLAGE, New York – Just after 1:00 AM, Sunday morning, July 14, 2019, Southampton Village and Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) Police and EMS responded to a report of a male subject struck by an eastbound LIRR train, just a few hundred feet from the Southampton train station. The victim has been identified as Michael Tymon, 34, of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The local medical examiner declared the victim diseased at the scene. It is not known why this individual entered the tracks. Two blocks away, partiers were enjoying Southampton's nightlife. LIRR service between Montauk and Speonk was suspended in both directions. The incident remains under investigation.
Speeding Car Plows Into Parked Car, Patchague, NY
Just before midnight, Thursday, July 12, 2019, a woman driving a late-model sedan at a high rate of speed and without headlights, plowed into a vintage BMW parked in front of the owner's house on Church Street in the Long Island Town of Patchaugue. The driver was treated at the scene for minor injuries, but she did refuse further medical attention, at one point walking out of the ambulance where she was being treated. There were no additional injuries, and no charges have as of yet been filed against the driver.
Holtzville Stabbing and Perp Apprehension
HOLTSVILLE, New York – At approximately 9:30 PM, Saturday evening, June 22, 2019, a male subject was stabbed at 332 Long Island Avenue, in the Long Island town of Holtsville, and transported by EMS to a local hospital in unknown condition. The suspect in the stabbing remained at the scene when the Suffolk County Police Department (SCPD) arrived. Police apprehended the subject without incident. SCPD Crime Scene unit was requested to the scene to conduct an evidence analysis.
Three days earlier, a stabbing occurred on the same block of Long Island Avenue in an apparent dispute between two landscapers. This incident occurred in the morning. The stabbing victim, who had been trimming the grass at a local 7-11, proceed to chase his attacker with the weed whacker.
A witnesses to both incidents, who lives two blocks away from the stabbing at 332 Long Island Avenue, said this “never happens in this neighborhood; it’s normally very quiet.”
Driver Has Seizure and Collides with 7 Parked Cars at Busy Harlem Intersection.
HARLEM, Manhattan – At approximately 9:30 PM, Thursday, June 20, 2019, the driver of a silver minivan had a seizure, while driving eastbound on West 112 Street, in Harlem; the driver accelerated through the intersection of West 112 St and Lenox Avenue; and careened violently into a row of parked cars along the southside of West 112 St, causing damage to seven vehicles. The driver’s wife suffered injuries to her chest, and complained of difficulty breathing, and was transported to a local hospital. The driver was also taken to a nearby hospital in unknown condition. None of the other vehicles involved in the accident were occupied.

CHARLOTTE GARDENS, Bronx -- On Friday, December 28, 2018 at approximately 2207 hours, police responded to a 911 call of an assault inside 1345 Southern Boulevard, apartment 3K, within the confines of the 42 Precinct. Upon arrival, officers observed a 32-year-old male victim lying on the floor of the apartment with at least one gunshot wound to his torso. EMS responded to the location and transported the victim to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. No arrests have been made and the investigation remains ongoing. However, an individual at the scene was taken into police custody. It is not yet known if that arrest is related to the shooting.

HARLEM, Manhattan – NYPD responded at 8:20 PM, Wednesday evening, December 5, 2018, to a call of a man barricaded in his fifth-floor Harlem apartment and throwing to the street and on parked cars below the contents of his apartment. NYPD ESU units were on scene to extricate the subject from the apartment, with members of the Hostage Negotiation Team and the NYPD Tactical Unit, taking the lead in defusing the tense situation. ESU inflated in front of 2184 Frederick Douglas Boulevard at East 118 Street a large cushion, in the event the subject leapt from his apartment window. The subject, a black male in his twenties, was removed without incident from the apartment, strapped to a stretcher with a mask over his face, and transported by FDNY EMS to Mount Sini Hospital.
Double Queens Stabbing in Quiet Flushing Neighborhood
FLUSHING, Queens — A verbal altercation between two Queens man turned violent, when 47 year old Young Park attacked with a knife 50 year old Jun Heynong Ko, who suffere slash wounds to the face, head, back, and suffered a fractured orbital socket. Mr. Ko fought back by attempting to stab Mr. Park, who suffered superficial wounds to his hands. The incident occurred around 2 AM in the lobby of Mr. Ko's apartment building at 42-49 159 Street in the Flushing neighborhood of Queens. Both men were transported to a local hospital, with Mr. Park in stable condition, and Mr. Ko in critical condition. Both men were also arrested for assualt and possession of a weapon. The cause of the knife fight is unknown.

A single motor vehicle traveling eastbound on East 112 Street in Harlem, crossed Third Avenue, hit a parked car, and rolled over. The male driver, who suffered minor injuries, was extricated by FDNY from his vehicle. It is unknown if the driver will be charged in connection to the accident.

CLAREMONT VILLAGE, Bronx - 44 Precinct sector units arrived at Clay Ave & 168 St around 11pm in regards to shots fired. Upon arrival, they discovered fireworks. Enforcement included a difficult crowd control situation. A 10-13 calling for backup was transmitted. Mace was deployed, a male was arrested, and a female was transported to the hospital symptomatic of mace in eyes.
Police Rescue Man Threatening to Jump from Bronx Building
HUNTS POINT, Bronx — An emotionally disturbed individual climbed to the roof of a UPS depot in the South Bronx, and then threatened to jump from the building. NYPD's ESU units responded and deployed an airbag on the sidewalk beneath where the individual threatened to jump. NYPD officers apprehended the man, and he was taken by FDNY ambulance to Lincoln Hospital.

MORRIS HEIGHTS, BRONX Just before 2 AM, Saturday, May 12, 2018, NYPD responded to a 911 call for an assault in progress.
Upon arrival to 1600 Sedgewick Avenue, in the Morris Heights section of the Bronx, NY, police found the victim, a 67 year old woman, lying on the floor with multiple stab wounds to her neck and leg; the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim’s 39 year old daughter was injured in the attach, but she refused medical attention. NYPD Emergency Services Unit (ESU) was rushed to the scene to force entry into the barricaded apartment, where the victim, her daughter, and the alleged suspect were all located.
Police arrested the victim’s 60 year old boyfriend, and charged him with murder, manslaughter, three counts of assault, four counts of acting in a manner injurious to a child, and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon.

TURTLE BAY, MANHATTAN—Shortly after midnight, Saturday, June 2, 2018, a patron of the Turtle Bay New York City bar, on Second Avenue, between East 52 and 53 Streets, allegedly stabbed another patron over a girl.
When others attempted to intervene, four additional individuals were slashed by the alleged perpetrator. The stabbing victim was taken to an area hospital, while the four slashing victims were treated at the scene, but refused further medical care.
The NYPD established a Level 1 Mobilization in front of the bar. Four witnesses to the alleged stabbing and slashing, examined, from the back of an NYPD Ford Explorer SUV, each male bar patron as they existed the bar one by one, under the carful scrutiny of police officers and detectives.
The suspect in these assaults remains at large.

HARLEM, Manhattan Twenty-five year old Shamel Wiggins got more than her bargained for when he entered an apartment at 25 West 128 Street, in Manhattan’s Central Harlem neighborhood, on the evening of Friday, May 11, 2018, allegedly seeking to commit burglary.
The perpetrator went first to the apartment of a 33 year-old male, banged and kicked the door until the victim opened it.
Wiggins forced his way into the apartment, pushed pass the victim to the window, where he ripped open the blinds. The victim bit the finger of the perpetrator and forced him out of the apartment.
Bleeding, the perpetrator then moved on to the apartment of a 26 year-old female, where he again banged and kicked the door.
When the victim opened the door, the perpetrator rushed into the apartment, by which time NYPD had arrived on scene after receiving a 911 call from the first victim.
Police officers rushed to the woman’s apartment. Upon entering, the perpetrator picked up a glass coffee table and hurled at police.
Wiggins was wrestled to the ground, already wounded by the bite from his first victim. Police forcibly restrained Wiggins, who was arrested on multiple count of burglary, criminal mischief, and resisting arrest; he was transported to Harlem Hospital.
According to police sources, Wiggins has an extensive criminal history.

BRONX, NY At approximately 8:14 PM, Friday, April 27, 2018, a 70 year-old man was fatally struck by a garbage truck on East 152 Street and Westchester Avenue. Tragically, the driver of the garbage truck backed up and struck the victim a second time. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the garbage truck was administered a field sobriety and breathalyzer test. As of Friday evening, the driver of the garbage truck had not been charged.

HARLEM, Manhattan – Shortly after Midnight, Friday, May 25, 2018, NYPD responded to a call of shots fired at 2310 Adam Clayton Powell, Jr. Blvd, at West 136 Street, in Harlem.
Officers and detectives recovered three shell casings at the scene of a makeshift shrine, assembled two days ago to memorialize the shooting death of a 25 year old male who was gunned down at 1739 Amsterdam Avenue, at 2:00 AM, Sunday, May 20. Police officials still have yet to release the identity of the victim, pending family notification.
The site of the elaborate makeshift shrine was made up of candles, flowers, and liquor and champagne bottles. Posted on the corrugated steel gate to the entrance of a leather and shoe repair shop are enlarged photographs of 25 year old victim, along with a piece of cardboard inscribed with the names of, and epitaphs left by, friends and family.
A large photo of the victim’s face is signed “Love you Baby, Sis and Mom.”
Several neighborhood residents, who did not wish to be identified, speculated that this evening’s gunfire was some form a retaliation for the killing, and perhaps related to the street-level drug trade that flourishes on the corner of Adam Clayton Powell, Jr. Blvd and West 136 Street.
Others remarked matter-of-factly that with the warm weather comes a sharp rise in shootings.

Bronx Livery Driver Shot Several Times and Robbed of $23, Recovering in Local Hospital

BRONX, NY Shortly after midnight, Saturday, March 17, 2018, NYPD responded to a call of a man shot inside a livery cab, on Morrison Avenue, in the Soundview Section of the Bronx. The victim, Jeffrey Cisnero Camacho, 26, picked up a street hail on Morrison Avenue in the Williamsbridge neighborhood.
When Camacho, a father of three, discharged his passenger, he was robbed at gunpoint and shot several times. The suspect made off with $23.
The livery cab driver is recovering in the hospital, while his assailant remains at large.
Police initiated a Level 1 Mobilization to find the shooter, including the use of an NYPD Aviation unit.
Shell casings were secured on the street by detectives and crime scene investigators, as they continued to look for additional evidence in and around the location of the shooting.

Bronx Man Killed and Two Injured in Drunk Driving Accident

ALLERTON, Bronx A 31-year-old man is dead and another is in police custody after a fatal car accident in the early morning hours of Saturday, February 3, 2018, on Burke Avenue.
According to NYPD officials say a Jeep was speeding northbound on Bronx Boulevard just before 3 a.m. when it collided with a Nissan Altima, which was making a left turn at the intersection on Burke Avenue.
Police say the Altima, which had two people inside, then slammed into a third car. The driver of the Altima, Shiquan Dunn, of the Bronx, was pronounced dead at the scene. Dunn’s passenger and that of the third car were transported to Jacobi Medical Center and said to have sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
The 54 year old driver of the Jeep was arrested for DWI; additional charges may be pending.

The subject was arrested, and the officer transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The focus of the investigation centered on the subject's black pickup truck, which was impounded. The nature of the incident is unknown at this time.
